Youth Pastor, Educator, Rev. Brian C. Johnson, Ph.D., Celebrates Release of His New Novel, “God’s Not Finished With Me Yet”

Bold Novel Explores the Devastating Effects of Pornography on Families Within the Church

Educator, youth pastor, and author Rev. Brian C. Johnson, Ph.D., is pleased to unveil his newest novel, God’s Not Finished with me Yet, which released to retail in the spring of 2023 from WordCrafts Press. Johnson’s hard-hitting new novel dares to uncover and expose the hidden sin and devastating effects of pornography addiction on members of the church community.

“I decided to write this book at the request of a reader of my nonfiction book, Sintimacy: the Christian’s Love Affair with Secret Sin, Dr. Johnson explains. “The reader felt like someone might be afraid to carry that title proudly, but might be more likely to do so if the book was a work of fiction.”

In Johnson’s new novel, a respected youth pastor with a wife and children is convicted of his secret sin, an addiction to pornography. When he decides the Holy Spirit is prompting him to come clean and confess his sin before the whole church congregation, he discovers forgivenness and understanding are extended on one hand, but condemnation and judgement are present in the other; temptation is never more than a thought away, and restoration and victory over addiction is often a process which must be walked through rather than an instantaneous deliverance.

“I want the reader to know there is a God who loves them—even in their mess,” Johnson declares. “Sometimes guilt can be overwhelming but they need to know there is hope. They may have failed, but they’re not a failure.”

The publisher notes that while God’s Not Finished with me Yet is a redemptive novel, it does deal with adult themes and situations, and parents should consider whether it is appropriate for their children.
