Under the Mango Trees is the First Volume in Odom’s Highly Anticipated new Coral series of Novels

WordCrafts Press and author Jennifer Odom are pleased to announce the release of Under the Mango Trees, the first volume in her highly anticipated, heartwarming Coral Series. Falling under the category of Contemporary Fiction, Under the Mango Trees serves as a worthy follow-up to Odom’s trilogy of Amazon.com bestselling Christian young adult supernatural thrillers, The Black Series, which included Summer on the Black SuwanneeStranger with a Black Case, and Girl with a Black Soul.

Under the Mango Trees, set in Ft. Myers, Florida, follows the trials, tribulations, triumphs, and heartaches of Coral, a neglected 12-year-old from a trailer park. Upon Coral’s unexpected, perhaps supernaturally appointed encounter with Rosella, her eccentric retiree neighbor, an unlikely and heartwarming friendship ensues. But as Coral comes of age, she discovers there is more to the joy and peace-filled Rosella than meets the eye—a secret grief from the past she is reluctant to discuss—a mystery that Coral is determined to unravel.

Under the Mango Trees is a marked departure from the darker themes of spiritual warfare explored in Odom’s Black Series and is already resonating with fans. The novel debuted at Number 1 on Amazon.com’s Hot New Releases in the Teen & Young Adult Fiction on Orphans & Foster Homes category, Number 2 in Hot New Releases in the Teen & Young Adult Christian Friendship Fiction category, Number 63 in Hot New Releases in the Teen & Young Adult Coming of Age Fiction,
and at Number 22 in the online retailer’s Best Sellers in Teen & Young Adult Christian Friendship Fiction category.

Jennifer Odom, an experienced teacher of elementary education, knows a thing or two about the challenges young girls face when dealing with difficulties at home and at school, and how important relationships with mentors can be. The Coral Series, rich in Florida culture and heritage, leads readers through the backroads of the state and into a native Florida unknown to most.

“Tragedy, romance, humor, disappointment, and revelation fill the pages of this series,” Odom declares. “I believe it is a story that will touch hearts and encourage those who have faced the hard times that life throws at us all.”
