Author, Worship Pastor, Composer Wayne Berry Unveils

QUESTING: A KINGDOM RECALIBRATION

Worship pastor, composer, contemporary psalmist, and author Wayne Berry is pleased to announce the release of his latest foray into the literary realm, QUESTING: A KINGDOM RECALIBRATION. Berry’s new book impacted retail on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, and immediately debuted at Number 66 on Amazon.com’s Hot New Releases chart in the Christian Discipleship category.

“When the Holy Ghost prompts you in a given direction, you have three basic choices,” Berry says of the impetus behind writing the new book. “You can Disregard/Disobey • Pause/Postpone • Follow/Submit. During my life, I have done all three. This manuscript is directly linked to my yielding to the choice to follow Him. It has to do with the process of clarification and consideration related to the whys, whats, and hows that transpire when attempting to pursue what Jesus said was to be the #1 priority in the lives of those who purpose to follow after Him: Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness…” Positioned near the middle of the discourse that presents the Beatitudes and the Sermon on the Mount there are two verses upon which both narratives are hinged. According to Matthew 5:1, 2, the directives that Jesus gave took place in front of two groups of people, a crowd and His disciples. The crowd was likely within hearing distance when Jesus was speaking. However, the disciples moved from where they were to get closer to Him. When He spoke, His words were intended for anyone who heard them, but in specific, they were meant for His disciples. The narrative in Matthew 5, 6, and 7 was given as a charge to those who were following Him then. They are meant as a charge for those who are following Him today as well. The key verse that unlocks everything He said in those chapters is found in Matthew 6:33. According to Jesus, it contains what is to be the #1 priority for His disciples.

“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” ~Matthew 6:33

This book is about that directive. Consider it a primer of a sort for those who are questing for God’s kingdom.

QUESTING: A KINGDOM RECALIBRATION follows on the heels of Berry’s 2016 Amazon.com bestselling debut, PONDERING(S), which climbed to #12 on Amazon.com’s “Hot New Releases – Christian Discipleship eBooks” chart, and its sequels, PONDERING(S) TOO, which released in 2019, and PARTICULAR PONDERING(S) which followed in 2020. Berry notes that while the first two volumes of his “Ponderings” were targeted toward specific areas of Christian discipleship and ministry, and the third volume was more random in its selection of relevant topics, QUESTING has taken him on an entirely new adventure.

“Since March of 2017, I’ve transitioned from retirement, to rebootment, to recalibration (ongoing),” Berry muses. “My first priority now, and for the rest of my life, is that of seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness. This book is part of that process.”
