Empowered Performed Songs From Critically Acclaimed Project, SALT, Lead Singer & Songwriter DiChiara Shared His Powerful Story of Healing from a Traumatic Brain Injury
Singer/songwriter/survivor Benny DiChiara and his chart-topping indie Christian Rock band, Empowered, recently took the stage at the Biloxi Shuckers baseball team’s Annual Faith & Family Night in Biloxi, Mississippi.
The 2026 Faith & Family Night, sponsored by the Biloxi Shuckers Minor League baseball team, the Southern League’s Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, was held during the team’s game against the Montgomery Biscuits on Sunday, August 2, 2026. The event featured a night of music and testimony with Empowered, and the Shuckers gave away a themed lunch box to the first 500 kids who arrived at Keesler Federal Park (formerly MGM Park) in downtown Biloxi.
“We were grateful to have Empowered be a part of our Faith & Family Night. Benny and the band brought great energy before the game, but more importantly, they took the time to connect with our fans, share their message, and make the night meaningful for all,” says Hunter Reed, General Manager of the Biloxi Shuckers, who are named in reference to the city’s oyster industry and seafood heritage. “The Shuckers are proud to create experiences that go beyond baseball, and Empowered added true value to an already special night,” Reed. “We truly appreciate them being part of it.
We are so blessed to have partnered with Hunter Reed, the General Manager of the Biloxi Shuckers baseball team, for their Faith & Family Night this past weekend!” says DiChiara. “We were treated so kindly by the staff and fans, and we enjoyed getting to know many of them that night as well as being invited into some poignant ministry opportunities. Go Forth and tell ’em what you’ve heard—For the Kingdom!”
As seen on CBN’s flagship show, The 700 Club, during the game DiChiara shared his powerful testimony of surviving a traumatic brain injury (TBI) that nearly took his life and his capacity to create music.
Instead, he astonished doctors with a rapid and nearly full recovery, and the man who was once at the edge of life is now full of purpose and divine presence.
He shared how the ripples from his healing, which occurred prior to his band’s breakout project, Three Days, have continued to expand in the years since, as he has shared his story with millions around the world via various media outlets and from the stage during the band’s riveting, high energy concerts.
During their live performance at the Faith & Family Night event, Empowered performed songs from their latest project, SALT, including the lead single, “The One.”
