VeggieTales®: The Penniless Princess – God’s Little Girl reminds viewers who they are in God’s eyes

Throughout the years, Big Idea Entertainment’s VeggieTales videos have used fantastic animation, laughter and silly songs to teach children important life lessons. Releasing August 11, Big Idea Entertainment’s “VeggieTales: The Penniless Princess—God’s Little Girl” teaches a lesson that the whole family needs to learn.

Based on the classic children’s story, this video teaches important lesson for the whole family

Based upon the classic children’s book, “A Little Princess,” by Frances Hodgson Burnett, “VeggieTales: The Penniless Princess—God’s Little Girl” reminds viewers to know their true worth as a child of God and to trust him no matter what.

Set in a Dickenseque London, Sara Crewe, the daughter of wealthy Captain Crew, is an intelligent, polite, and creative young girl. Captain Crew brings Sara to London for a formal education at the school of Miss Minchin. The headmistress dislikes Sara, but flatters her because of her father’s money. Miss Minchin’s attention to Sara tweaks the nose of Lavinia who, prior to Sara’s arrival, was the school’s “princess.”Despite her father’s wealth, Sara is kind to everyone, including Becky, who is one of the servants in the school.

On Sara’s birthday, a messenger arrives to inform Miss Minchin that Captain Crew had died penniless. Miss Minchin tells Sara she can stay at the school, but only as a servant.

The fatherless Sara works hard, gets little food and is often mistreated by the other students and Miss Minchin, who is determined to break the girl’s spirit. But Sara remembers what her father told her, “You’re never alone. God is always with you. You’re his little princess.” She asks God to, “Help me to love, no matter what.”

Fans of VeggieTales are familiar with the top notch animation and delightful pop culture references. You’ll find them in this video, but what makes this story golden is the message, “Even if someone looks like a servant on the outside, they can be a princess on the inside.”

Of course, what VeggieTales video would be complete without a Silly Song? Children will ROTFL at a text-speak in “Best Friends Forever.”

  • Behind the Scenes
  • My Teddy Bear’s From Where?
