The Jesus Boat: Witness to Prophecy

A stunning documentary that links an archeological find with biblical prophecy.

JesusBoat_DVD_FRONT COVERIn 1986, two fishermen stumbled upon a boat sunk in the mud of the Sea of Galilee. They contacted archeologists, who confirmed it was from the first century. The fact that the wooden ship survived decomposition in fresh water for almost twenty centuries was considered a miracle. The story of this remarkable discovery and its unusual relationship to modern history is examined in The Jesus Boat: Witness to Prophecy.

Synopsis from the Jesus Boat  website:

The astounding prophetic rebirth of Israel is told through the discovery of an ancient and unlikely artifact found under the shores of the Sea of Galilee. A first century fishing boat, identical to the boat Jesus sailed upon with his disciples, was destroyed in the years Israel was destroyed by the Romans, but found 2000 years later in a series of astonishing events that even scientists called a miracle. Mirroring Israel’s own story of devastation and survival, the boat from the time of Jesus, would rise against all odds and float upon the Sea of Galilee once more as the oldest surviving freshwater boat in the world. Featuring commentary from some of the great theologians of our day including Franklin Graham, Joel Rosenberg, Jay Sekulow, Skip Heitzig, Chuck Smith and more.

The archeologists involved share details on the boat, its discovery and preservation; some of these details are quite unusual. It also includes intriguing information about the historical period when the boat was built as well as prophecy that was fulfilled during that time.

For instance, when the Romans destroyed Jerusalem in 70 A.D., the Temple of Solomon was set fire. The heat from the fire melted the gold that was on the floors, the walls and the ceiling of the Temple; the liquid gold ran beneath the stone floors. The Roman Emperor Titus ordered his soldiers to go in, turn over the stones and scrap the gold off.

Jesus had prophesied this event in Mark 13: 1-2:

‘As he was leaving the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Look, Teacher! What massive stones! What magnificent buildings!” “Do you see all these great buildings?” replied Jesus. “Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”’

That is only one of many intriguing details that are sure to leave viewers saying, “I did not know that!”

The Jesus Boat: Witness to Prophecy is a stunning documentary, one that will appeal to history fans as well as believers.

The DVD can be purchased from The Jesus Boat Movie website, as well as other websites and many local stores.
