Shark Week Returns

The Most Wonderful Week of the Year is less than two weeks away, but for fans who can’t wait for SHARK WEEK’s return on Sunday, July 5, Discovery is airing SHARK WEEK SHARKTACULAR tomorrow, Tuesday, June 23 at 10:00 PM ET/PT.

SHARK WEEK SHARKTACULAR is an hour-long special hosted by award-winning film director, producer, writer and actor Eli Roth (Shark After Dark, “Inglourious Basterds,” “The Green Inferno,” and “Knock Knock” amongst other projects). To get fans even more excited for SHARK WEEK, Roth will take viewers through a countdown of the Top 5 fan favorite moments from the past 27 years, fan-submitted viral videos featuring incredible firsthand shark encounters as well as never-before-seen sneak peeks clips on what they can expect from SHARK WEEK 2015. Throughout the hour, leading shark experts and scientists including shark conservationist Julie Andersen (Founder, Shark Angels), shark researcher Dr. Michael Domeier (President, Marine Conservation Science Institute) and marine biologist Dr. Tristan Guttridge (Executive Director, Bimini Biological Field Station) will provide commentary and insights into each sharktastic moment. For the first time ever, SHARK WEEK SHARKTACULAR will air fan-submitted viral videos, and the first looks clips will preview some of the most jaw-dropping moments that will be featured on this year’s SHARK WEEK.

In addition to hosting SHARK WEEK SHARKTACULAR, Roth will bring his unique style to SHARK WEEK’s hit late-night talk show Shark After Dark airing Sunday, July 5 to Thursday, July 9 (11:00-11:30 PM ET/PT). In its third consecutive year, Shark After Dark will feature celebrity guests, shark fans and shark experts, among many others.

SHARK WEEK 2015, television’s longest running must-see summer TV event, will be bigger than ever before. In addition to airing a total of 19 hours of primetime SHARK WEEK programming – the most hours in its 28-year history – Discovery will also introduce a special weekend of all-new SHARK WEEK programming in August.
