Saint Johns to release Open Water

Nashville duo via Florida, The Saint Johns are thrilled to announce the release of their debut EP Open Water.

stjohns02Set for an October 8th release, Open Water has already caught the attention of NPR, iTunes, and even Dr. Luke – who the band recently signed on with as writers – for its sincere songwriting and deeply felt performances.

The duo’s special combination of gorgeous harmonies and subtle instrumentation, which marries the best of folk-influenced and traditional Americana music, has NPR’s World Café calling the duo “A New Artist On The Rise.”

Listen to the first single “Your Head and Your Heart” – a beautiful song that will be featured in the October 9th episode of ABC’s hit show Nashville and recently debuted at #3 on the iTunes Singer Songwriter Chart – here:

Already having spent the early part of 2013 on the road with Delta Rae and The Lone Bellow, The Saint Johns will head out on a 6-week North American tour that begins at this year’s CMJ Music Marathon in NY. Tour dates below.

Open Water is an impressive 5-song collection that showcases the harmonious flow of duo Louis Johnson and Jordan Meredith.

History of the duo … A few years back at a friend’s gathering, Louis picked up a guitar in a brazen attempt to impress a girl he had just met. That girl – Jordan – fired back with an original song of her own. The guitar was passed back and forth, and what started as a competition turned into companionship. The pair were immediately drawn to each others talent. They began writing songs together, and haven’t looked back.

Earlier this year, The Saint Johns gathered a group of talented Music City musicians to record live versions of a few new songs that would become the basis for Open Water. “It was our way of introducing ourselves,” says Louis. These live sessions are now available for free download on the band’s website
