Kristofferson on Troubabour, TX

This fall, Troubadour, TX will present the one-hour television special An Evening with Kris Kristofferson, that will air on networks carrying the syndicated series.

kristoph1The special features a rare one-on-one conversation and musical performances by the American musical poet, Kris Kristofferson.

Produced by the award-winning storytellers behind the television series Troubadour, TX, Kristofferson’s performance is recorded live to tape and includes some of his most famous songs from his extensive catalog, including “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’,” “Me and Bobby McGee,” “Help Me Make it Through the Night,” “Why Me Lord,” and many more.

The special also includes discussions with the reniassance man about his life and career – dispelling some myths that have been floating around for decades. Viewers will also get a behind-the-scenes look at Kristofferson’s performace at Red Rocks in Denver with fellow Texas Troubadour, Lyle Lovett.

As previously announced, Kristofferson joins the television series, Troubadour, TX for its third season, which begins airing September 28th. Kristofferson serves as segment host in the award-winning, 22-episode series. Kristofferson offers personal stories throughout the series and his thoughts of what it is to be a singer-songwriter. Stacy Dean Campbell serves as the host offering viewers a unique perspective into the lives and behind the scenes of today’s Troubadours.

About Kris Kristofferson: Kris Kristofferson, originally from Brownsville, Texas, has had an extraordinary music career, having been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2004 and winning a Grammy award early in his career.  He’s perhaps best known for such hits as “Me and Bobby McGee,” “For the Good Times,” “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down,” “Why Me Lord” and “Help Me Make it Through the Night.”  He is the sole writer for most of his songs but has collaborated throughout the years with various Nashville music greats, including best friends Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Janis Joplin and many others.

Kristofferson has also had a distinguished acting career, starring in nearly a hundred films, including “Billy the Kid,” “A Star is Born,” “Planet of the Apes,” “Blade” and “Joyful Noise.”
