The Dove Channel

For 24 years, families have looked for the Dove Foundation’s Faith & Family Dove Seals of Approval as an aid in selecting family friendly entertainment. With busy schedules, the seal helps parents, grandparents and other caregivers to know that these products have met the Foundation’s criteria in six key areas; Sexuality, Language, Violence, Drug and alcohol use, Nudity, and Other.

In order to stay current with the changing viewing habits of families, The Dove Foundation has partnered with a digital distribution platform to insure that families can find Dove Approved content wherever and whenever they want.

Launching September 15, the Dove Channel is a subscription streaming service that allows families to have access to only Dove Approved feature length movies, short form kid videos, documentaries and episodic television series. Newcomers will get a free one-week trial of the service; after that, a $4.99 monthly subscription gets viewers ad-free streaming, early access to new releases and use of the service’s customizable content-filtering feature. There is also a free, advertiser supported option, which allows viewers to watch approximately 60% of the Dove Channel content.

Among the 600 to 700 titles available at the channel’s launch include: VeggieTales, The Velveteen RabbitHighway To HeavenSwiss Family RobinsonThe Adventures of Black Beauty and Where The Red Fern Grows, Highway to Heaven, Abbott and Costello, Heidi, The Little Rascals, and several John Wayne films. It has animated as well as live action Bible stories. Each title on this channel has gone through the same rigorous screening process required to earn the Dove Seal. Dove-web-logo
