Believe Storybook: Think, Act, Be Like Jesus
Combining Bible stories with lessons to live a Christ-like life, Believe Storybook: Think, Act, Be Like Jesus, co-written by best-selling author, Randy Frazee and children’s author Laurie Lazzaro Knowlton, is a wonderful tool for parents of young children.
Believe Storybook is more than a simple Bible picture book. Written for children ages 4—8, it explores thirty themes found in Scripture. Instead of starting with Genesis and ending with Revelation, this book begins with the greatness of God and ends with the humility of Jesus. Each topic opens with asking The Key Question, such as Who is God? How do I keep my focus on Jesus? How do I deal with hardships and struggles in life? How do I study the Word of God? How do I serve others?
After introducing the topic question, and applicable scripture, each section has a story from the Old Testament and a story from the New Testament that shares that common theme. The section ends with The Jump to Jesus that bridges the two stories and helps your child understand how Jesus would answer the topic question.
Beautifully illustrated by Steve Adams Believe Storybook: Think, Act, Be Like Jesus allows parents and grandparents to introduce the stories of the Bible to their children and grandchildren, but teach them how to apply the story’s lesson in their own lives. This would be a wonderful addition to homes with small children, for grandparents or for a church’s children’s program.
Randy Frazee is the senior minister at Oak Hill Church in San Antonio, Texas, where he teaches and leads in partnership with pastor and author Max Lucado. Frazee has authored The Heart of the Story, The Connecting Church 2.0, The Christian Life Profile Assessment and coauthored Real Simplicity with his wife Rozanne.
Laurie Lazzaro Knowlton is the author of thirty five books and author/illustrator of two more, including My Valentine for Jesus, I Knew a Librarian Who Chewed on a Word, Why Cowboys Sleep With Their Boots On and The Nativity.
Steve Adams has received numerous accolades for his illustration, from organizations such as the Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, and the 3×3 International ProShow. He has collaborated with a wide range of publications, including the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post, and has also illustrated many children’s books, including The Boy Who Grew Flowers, The Boy Who Wanted to Cook and If: A Mind-Bending New Way of Looking at Big Ideas and Numbers.
